What is a smart classroom

The scale of evolution that the education industry has gone through over the last few months remains monumental. From traditional learning to smart learning, the industry escalated swiftly. Smart classrooms have taken over the sector to prevent learning loss in schools worldwide.

But what is a smart classroom?

A smart classroom is an EdTech-upgraded classroom that enhances the teaching and learning process for both the teachers and the students by inculcating audio, video, animations, images, multimedia etc. This increases the engagement factor and leads to better-performing students. This approach has been doing wonders, primarily when students can barely concentrate in an online setupsmart class technology helps students engage better.

According to the estimates released by RBSA Advisors, India's EdTech industry is set to become $30 billion in size in the next ten years. This means the coming times will rely heavily on technology, and systems that fail to comply with this fast-changing world will perish.

Unleashing the potential of technology

When the world has come to a standstill, especially in the education industry,  it becomes imperative to adopt technology to survive. Many educational institutes have kept technology at bay, thinking it needs earth-shattering changes; however, that is incorrect. New-age solutions allow school owners to deploy technology easily without making any infrastructural changes. With the help of an integrated management solution, a class becomes smart, and other administrative tasks that became harrowing following an infinite school closure become easy.

No one would have questioned the education system if it didn't screech to a halt. It was only after the pandemic that its loopholes got exposed, and the need for a model that's not so flimsy was felt.

Also, the Indian education system has promoted rote learning for ages which didn't help students in skills required for the future. A study by LinkedIn says that 85% of jobs that will exist in 2030 haven't been invented yet. A model beyond traditional learning is required to prepare students for future jobs.

A report by Weforum states that "Half of us will need to reskill in the next five years, as the "double-disruption" of the economic impacts of the pandemic and increasing automation transforming jobs takes hold.``

Upskilling for the sake of future

Smart classrooms support the future vision where students are trained in active learning, resilience, stress tolerance, and flexibility. Smart class technology allows students to develop skills that otherwise remain amiss in a traditional setup. Critical thinking and problem-solving are usually the skills at the top of any employer list, and smart class technology helps to hone these skills via collaborative learning. Also, smart classes let students learn at their own pace with the help of ample resources, which makes them self reliant.  Smart class technology also facilitates a hybrid learning model, crucial in the current times of disruption.

How is LEAD making smart learning possible in Indian schools?

LEAD has been changing the Indian education sector in multiple ways. Once a school decides to partner with LEAD, the former becomes smart and allows learning deep-rooted in quality. Every teacher at LEAD is equipped with a teacher tablet loaded with lesson plans, audiovisual resources, and training resources. The Excellence Managers at LEAD coach and guide teachers throughout the year to develop their skills and help them continuously upgrade. At LEAD-powered schools, teachers use a lesson plan instead of a book and follow a concentric design of lesson plans. The teachers also have unique teaching strategies designed for non-English background students
